Uptown Coney was started by Gus
Boutsikakis in 1990. Gus wanted to create a great
family restaurant that combines excellent food with
affordable prices and beautiful surroundings. Judging
by the response and loyalty of the Uptown customers,
Gus succeeded in his goal.
Uptown has become a destination
for great tasting food and high quality service
from the Uptown team. The unique decor, highlighted
by 1950's murals (some of which you can see in these
pages), is relaxing and inviting.
During
the last ten years, Uptown has won accolades for
the quality of food served. These include
Best Coney in Ann Arbor
in 1998 from the Ann Arbor News. The best recognition
though remains
the loyalty of the Uptown customers, many of them
regulars since opening day.
